Carlsbad Ca, Carlsbad adding more Lifeguards to unprotected stretches of public beach.
A small stretch of beaches along the Carlsbad coast has been an alarm for safety concerns recently. One area of the beach stretch — about one mile in length — will be adding some needed lifeguards to patrol areas of the coast and perform rescues if necessary. With reports of rescue-related incidents from the local Carlsbad Fire Department, this comes as a welcome relief for Carlsbad residents. With hundreds of rescued performed in the Summer of 2017, it’s a clear indication that more lifeguards are needed in order to keep beachgoers and the likes of them safe from potential mishaps and other incidents.
Since this stretch is the only area along the Carlsbad coast that doesn’t fall under park territory in the state (California), it’s the only real and unattended area along the coast that — up until now hopefully — will benefit greatly from the increased security of having lifeguards safeguarding the strip. “Everybody that’s down on the beach should swim in front of a lifeguard” is the going word of the Carlsbad Fire Department’s chief. The lifeguards are expected to be working the area soon. After all, would you feel completely safe in knowing that no one is around who can potentially rescue or mitigate a dangerous situation in the middle of the beach?
